Sculptra
Sculptra is a bio-stimulating injectable treatment designed to stimulate your own natural collagen production. After the age of 20, you lose about 1% of collagen each year. Sculptra can be used to restore facial volume, treat deep lines, wrinkles, sagging, and other signs of aging due to collagen loss. Sculptra is injected deep into the dermis and works subtly and gradually over time, lasting up to 2-3 years.

Before Treatment:
Drink at least 64 oz of water and limit caffeine
Pre-treat with Arnica 3 days before your treatment to reduce bruising
Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as
Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, or Aleve, as these may cause an increased risk of bleeding or bruising at the injection sites.
Avoid Omega 3s, turmeric, St John’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, green tea, garlic supplements, flax oil, cod liver oil 1 week prior
Avoid alcoholic cigarettes and niacin for 48 hours before treatment to reduce swelling and bruising.
To lessen your chance of irritation & redness, pause the use of Retinol & exfoliating acids 3 days before your treatment & for 3 days after.
Avoid dental work 2 weeks before treatment
Eat a small meal or snack before your appointment
Arrive with a clean face, no makeup
After Treatment:
You may take Tylenol if you experience any discomfort
Massage treated areas (upward strokes) 5 times per day for 5 minutes for 5 days following the injections!! This is an important step to evenly distribute Sculptra and ensure the best results.
You may apply a cool compress to the injection site for up to 48 hours
Avoid excessive sun or heat exposure for 24 hours post-treatment
Do not exercise for 24 hours post-treatment
Avoid saunas for 6 hours post-treatment
Avoid applying makeup for 24 hours
There will be moderate swelling and redness with the possibility of bruising. You may apply Arnica cream/gel to the area or take oral Arnica to speed up healing. If you are experiencing bruising Bromelain 200 mg to speed up healing.
Avoid facial treatments, massage, laser, IPL, for at least 2-3 weeks post treatment
You’ll see a natural filling effect within the first couple of days, followed by a decrease in volume. At this point, the body slowly starts to produce its own collagen, re-establishing volume that has been lost over time.

Unlike HA fillers, Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a biocompatible synthetic substance that stimulates collagen production.
